Meet the Vice President: Katherine Tabinowski
Just before our spring break, the EOC chapter at the University of Delaware held an internship panel. Three directors of UDress Magazine, Samantha Antopol (publisher), Emily Barbeau (public relations director) and Meg Gray (associate fashion event director) spoke about their previous experiences, upcoming summer internships and advice on how to land your dream internship!
Samantha Antopol is returning to Teen Vogue for her third consecutive summer. Her previous Teen Vogue internships include working in the fashion closet, beauty & health and online. This summer she will be working in the public relations department. For Samantha, who has also interned for Charlotte Ronson and the original ladies of NonSociety.com, her mantra for obtaining an internship is: just ask.
After one successful summer with I-Ella.com, Emily Barbeau will be returning to the online philanthropic-shopping site for another go-around! Last year, Emily found herself well into June and without an internship. Nevertheless, Emily’s “never give up” attitude prevailed and she found a posting for I-Ella on Ed2010! Emily’s coolest intern story from working at I-Ella is that she got to meet Kanye West!
Meg Gray’s awesome summer gig proves that not only can you work for a company you love, but you can find it through an unlikely source: your school! When looking for an internship, Meg decided to check out the University of Delaware’s Blue Hen Jobs site. Many people don’t even look at their school’s job sites for they often have a reputation for lacking “cool” companies and jobs. But that SO isn’t the case at UD! Meg scored an amazing (paid!) internship with Calvin Klein, which she found through a posting on Blue Hen Jobs!
