About Ed on Campus at SUNY Oswego

Ed on Campus at SUNY Oswego recently started their chapter in the summer of 2010, by Samantha Shelton. With the help of supportive faculty, we hope to create fantastic events that will help us get one step closer to being magazine editors in New York City. We’re here to support each other in achieving our dreams of living in the big city, while landing our dream jobs and learning everything we can about the industry. We reach out to successful SUNY Oswego alumni, as well as other various editors, to give us the inside scoop about how to get your foot in the door — and keep it there. We also host a number of workshops, get-togethers and career-building events!

Upcoming Event!

Hope you will be able to join us at our future events!

Friday, March 4, 12:40 pm; Campus Center 133

Ed on Campus panel featuring Karen Snyder Duke, Editorial Assistant, PARENTS

Ed’s booked his first mag industry insider for Oswego to give you the heads up on how to sink your teeth into finding your dream internship, and how to turn that internship into a full-time job!

PARENTS’ Karen Snyder Duke will be in Oswego on March 4 at 12:40pm in Campus Center 133 to tell you about her journey to success and how you can do it too! Before landing her full-time gig, Karen interned at CosmoGirl!, People, InStyle and PARENTS. She then turned her internship at PARENTS into a full-time job.

Karen is the Editorial Assistant (not to mention the Ed on Campus Director!) who eyes your credentials before passing it along to higher ups, so she knows what’s what when it comes to a killer resume and is here to give you as many tips as she can!
