About Ed on Campus at Hofstra University

The Ed2010 Hofstra Chapter is Hofstra University’s answer to future magazine mavens. This club exists to serve as a community for students that are interested in learning more about the magazine industry, so they can fulfill their dreams of landing top editing and writing positions at a publication. In 2011, the national Ed2010 team recognized us as the Best Established Chapter in the Country.

We’re home to the Hofstra branch of Her Campus Media, the #1 online magazine for college women. Our members have interned at some of the most well-known monthly publications including Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue, Self, Parents, and O, The Oprah Magazine. Our alumni have landed jobs at cosmopolitan.com, usmagazine.com, O, The Oprah Magazine, and Alloy Digital Media.

Meet Chandra Turner, Founder of Ed2010 and Executive Editor at Parents

As a young whippersnapper in the late 1990s, Chandra Turner saw a lack of information about how to break in to the magazine industry. She founded Ed2010, a national organization that now has city and campus chapters across the country—and beyond.

Meet Tammy Tibbetts, Social Media Editor at Seventeen/Founder of She’s the First
Thursday, April 26 at 6 pm, Breslin 209
Tammy Tibbetts found a way to utilize her skills as a magazine website editor to make positive, lasting change. Today, her not-for-profit has sponsored the education of 100+ girls in the developing world.
