Sierra Piland is a Journalism - Graphic Design and Communication Studies - Media Production double major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Class of 2012. This is her second year as the president of Cafme (Carolina Association of Future Magazine Editors). Last year, she led UNC students to NYC to visit Ed2010 members and tour magazines. She also played a big part in Cafme winning Ed’s Best New Chapter award in 2011. Sierra is currently the Assistant Art Director at Southern Weddings magazine and continues to work as Design Director of Scope (Kaleidoscope, UNC’s popular fashion magazine). In the past, she has worked with Her Campus (founded the UNC branch in 2010), CMT (Country Music Television), University Directories, The Daily Tar Heel and was elected Art Director of a major class magazine, Carolina Fresh. She hopes to go into the magazine or film industry after graduating this May.

Bio: 

Nicole Yang is a Journalism major specializing in graphic design at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This is her third year with CAFME, having landed her first internship with Southern Weddings magazine through a club networking event. Nicole is currently the Editorial Assistant for Southern Weddings magazine and layout director of the social justice magazine, Patchwork. She has interned with Carolina Union Marketing and Design Services and 3 Birds Marketing. Nicole hopes to enter the magazine industry upon her graduation in May.
