Tammy Tibbetts
Managing Editor, Ed2010.com
Tammy Tibbetts is the prom queen/quince princess at Hearst Digital Media — aka founding web editor of MisQuinceMag.com and MyPromStyle.com. These sites — part of the Seventeen magazine network — provide inspiration, advice, and interactive tools to help a girl prepare for her quinceañera and prom. She also helped launch and maintains DonateMyDress.org, the first national network of organizations that collect and distribute prom dresses to girls in need.
Tammy graduated from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) with a B.A. in Journalism and minors in Spanish and Women’s and Gender Studies. Thus, she has a habit of referencing The New York Times 10 times a day and is obsessed with anything Spain. She was an ASME intern at Ladies’ Home Journal and also interned at JANE and Seventeen. She founded Ed@TCNJ (2008’s Ed on Campus Chapter of the Year!).
Tammy received the Glamour Ruth Whitney Scholarship from New York Women in Communications (NYWICI). She now serves on the NYWICI Foundation Board and Student Affairs Committee.
Outside of the magazine and dress world, Tammy’s passion is directing the MacDella Cooper Foundation, which supports children in Liberia. She’s currently working on the Foundation’s efforts to open the MCF Academy in Fall 2010 — it will be the first tuition-free school in post-war Liberia.
