Bio:
Though she was raised in Florida, Carla Jean is a
Birmingham native and a 'Bama girl at heart.
Officially, grad school brought her back, but anyone
who talks to her long enough will realize a love of
Alabama football was at least half her motivation.
While at the University of Alabama, Carla Jean
developed a secret crush on Ed, who kept her in the
loop with magazine news even during her years as a
newspaper reporter. She's now an associate editor at
Birmingham magazine, a position that allows her to
both deepen her love of the city and share its
