Christie has experience across magazines, newspaper, digital media, and PR. Christie is currently the Digital Director for FITNESS Magazine, which basically means she’s the site director for fitnessmagazine.com and then gets to dabble in all the other cool digital properties, like stuff for the iPad, smartphones, etc. Previously, she was the Senior Web Editor of Cosmopolitan, where she was previously the Web Editor, and started as an Associate Editor. Prior to working at Cosmo, she was an Editorial Assistant at CosmoGIRL!, and has also freelanced for Dance Spirit, Inside Cheerleading, Inside Gymnastics,Glamour, and Time Inc. Before moving to NYC, Christie worked as the PR/Media Assistant for the USA Gymnastics Federation and as a summer staff reporter for The Times of Northwest Indiana newspaper. She is also a contributing author to the 2007 book “Cheerleading: From Tryouts to Championships.”
3 Things You Should Know: 1. Christie grew up in a small town in Indiana called Munster. 2. She graduated from Indiana University, where she majored in Journalism and minored in Apparel Merchandising. 3. She used to be the 60-Minute Mentors Director for Ed.
3 Things You Really Didn't Need to Know: 1. She names everything (her laptop is Pop Tart, her iPhone is Spicy, etc). 2. She is the worst singer in the world. Like a dying cat, really. 3. She used to be a paid professional wingwoman.
